This project started with the client calling for an estimate to replace the old brick retaining walls. After talking more with the client about his grandchildren and the children in the neighborhood, and the fact that he has no place for them to play, Jeff decided to combine a new retaining wall system with a built in children play space. He created new stacked stone retaining walls that border the driveway on both sides, he included lots of large boulders and created ‘caves’ and ‘mountains’ for the grand kids to explore. Jeff went above and beyond on this project, he created a story book using characters in the actual landscaping to act as a guide. Every element in the project, from climbing walls, boulder caves, flowing water, staircases and rock ledges everything was included in the children’s book. An accompanying adventure map was included so the children can invent their own games and play on the project for years to come.
